WHO IS ANANSE/SPIDER, WHERE DID HE COMES FROM AND HOW DID HE HAVE WISDOM(but use it as trickler to deceive all creatures) AND HOW HE BECOMES THE FATHER OF STORIES?

THE ORIGIN OF ANANSE THE SPIDER IS GHANA-ASHANTI TRIBE IN WEST AFRICA, AND SPREAD HIS TRICKY WISDOM AND STORIES AROUND THE WORLD THAT HUMAN BEINGS DEPEND ON HIS NATURE TO DEVELOPED CREATION. THE WEB……..!!!!!

Anansi´s father is “Nyame”/God of heavens and his mother is “Asase Yaa”/The Earth thursday born. He lives everywhere on the earth, i.e. is to say no home. Was born on Wednesday in the times animals were talking to human and because of his stubborn against “Nana Nyame” his father, he was sent to the earth with all his wisdom.

Ananse the spider has a wife called Aso with four children namely

  1. Tikelenkele ( the biggest head with small body)
  2. Yaa Konhwea ( the most tiny human Thursday born)
  3. Afuru dotwe dotwe ( the biggest stomach)
  4. Ntekuma ( the last born name hidden) against his father´s deceivings all the time!

MAIN ENEMY OF KWEKU ANANSE: IS “AGYA OSEBO” OR FATHER TIGER (other people use leopard)

HOW ANANSI GOT HIS STORIES AND BECAME MASTER OF STORIES

Many many years ago, there were no stories on the earth, only Nyame/God, the father of spider had them all.

The Spider was living like a man with his Father God of Creation(Nyame Oboadie). Anansi was so stubborn to the extend that he goes against his fathers good attitude all the time, so one day Nyame his father got annoyed when Anansi sent rain without the knowledge of his father Nyame/God who is the goddess of the Ashantis/Ghana where Anansi originated. Inspite, Nyame kokroko( The God who provide rain and snow) got angry and turn his son to insect Kweku Anansi but had the opportunity to turn himself to man during stories. Anansi in the in Ashanti language means Spider and kweku means a person born on wednessday The spider came with all his wisdom to teach creation with his web, stories and the results of good and bad behaviour!!

Here it goes, how Anansi got all stories and was credited as keeper of all stories

Sometimes the stories are told about Anansi´s daily life and other times he narrate the stories to his family

Ananse/ MR. SPIDERMAN asked Nyame(GOD): now I live on the earth and there are no stories to narrate among ourselves, so he asked his father to give him some, but Nyame said, there are measures which he should do before he can have some.

Tiny Spider who appeared in human form with six legs and hands would have to bring Nyame/God, live “osebo” the tiger, “wowo onini”mr. python/the snake, “mmoboro abusua” the bee´s family, and “mmotia”the dwarf!

These wild creatures were very difficult to go nearer, but in the wisdom of Anansi/spider involved cunning/trickish, crafty, vigilant and sober! So Kweku sat and had the first plan to approach “onini”the snake.

From behind Anansi shouted to snake: Aso my wife tried to give your glory to the palm tree as the tallest than  even you  are, and have been argueing with me, so please mr. python/snake, can you measure with the palm tree to proof to me to maintain even more respect for you, your highness? In reality, the palm tree of Ghana has pinches around the stem that can choke any flesh who touches, but because the snake couldn´t stand on feet to measure and really wanted to proof, it turn around the tree from the lower stem till the upper part and was choked there. So Ananse took him to God

2nd was the “mmotia”the dwarf who also have magical powers: Ananse made a doll statue just like human being (like a friend of dwarf) and covered the image with gummy type stick. when u touched the image you will get stucked to it, so he place it where the dwarf has been playing, besides, he put cooked yam/potatoes which the dwarf like most as banana! The dwarf thought his friend human has given to him, so after eating them, he tried to shake the image for his grateful but the right hand got stucked to the image/doll, dwarf tried to help with other hand to get the right hand back from the doll, but it also stucked! When trying to kick with the leg, it also got stucked and so was the other leg also. Ananse hidden somewhere came and took him to “Nana Nyame”!

3rd “mmoboro” the bee´s family: the nest/home of “mmoboro family” was made under a branch of banana tree, where Anansi took “kontua” big wooden bottle for water”(usually local use in Ashanti) and filled it with water which at first poured some over his head whilst he climbed uptairs of the nest of the bees, and shake the head. At that moment he told the bees that it´s raining so he will give them the opportunity to come and hide in the “kontua” bottle which is dark inside. So one after the other entered without knowing there was water settled in the lowest part of the bottle, and then Anansi closed the bottle with it cork and took it to “ Nana Nyame”

4th With “agya osebo”father tiger (leopard), he made a pit hiddenly near osebo´s cave. In the time, osebo the tiger fell in the deep pit, so Anansi the spider told osebo the tiger that: i´ll help you out by throwing my web, so you just get inside my web and i´ll cover you with the web and pull you out. Because tiger needed help, he did it as Anansi said, and Kweku Anansi the trickler took him to  “Nana Nyame”/God!

From that time Anansi the spider became the father of stories in the world.

In the world analyses, Kweku Anansi (the Wednesday born spider), originated from the ASHANTI TRIBE IN GHANA, spread from Ashanti to Akan tribes, to all Ghanaians, to West Africa Countries, to United States, black south American countries eg, Jamaica,Trinidad n tobacco, Haiti, Seychelles and many others…!!!!
